The Celebration of Easter

Easter has always been one of the first celebrations of spring, the holiday filled with pastel colors, green grass, fluffy white bunnies, and bright yellow chicks. Somewhere along the way we have become so wrapped up in the Easter bunny, coloring eggs and filling baskets that we have lost sight of the true significance of Easter and the real reason we celebrate this day. We pay praise to this day because it is the final day of three days. The first day, Good Friday is the day the Lord God gave his son to die on the cross for all of our sins, the second day is the day he is placed in the tomb to lay at rest after a horrible and wretched death was cast upon him as he hung there accepting all with grace while speaking of his love for all of us, and the third day, Easter Sunday, is the day that Jesus arose from the tomb and ascended into the heavens.

We take joy in this third day because it is the day that the lord opened the heavens and provided us all with the gift of eternal life, allowing for the destruction of sin and death, all at the asking by all of us to forgive us of our sins and lead us away from temptation and evil and to deliver us into his arms one day.

John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

We can take solace in the belief that our lord and savior paved a way for us to join him in paradise and find peace everlasting beside him in heaven.

This year I celebrate the joy of knowing that my sweet husband was provided a place in the magnificent heavens amongst the angels and the glorious surroundings in paradise. He has found his peace in this life and someday I will find mine, right beside him.

I also celebrate this day for the new life I am creating and the new joys I am finding in my life. I celebrate my awesome lord guiding me in fulfilling all of my greatest dreams and finding a beautiful soul to share in my joys and I to share in his. I celebrate this day to praise the lord for the bountiful gifts he has given me and the lives he has bestowed upon me to cherish and to guide with all of my knowledge and my love.

I celebrate this day most of all in thankfulness for the sacrifice the lord has made for me and my family and friends and the prayers he has answered in bringing my treasured friends and family to good health and saved lives. I know he is there, and I know he is listening, and I know my life is owed to him and his grace. Without him I would never have made it through the trials and tribulations in my life and for this I am forever grateful.

So, this Easter I wish all of you the joy of finding praise in the sacrifice the lord has made for all of you and the peace of knowing he will never let you fall, if you allow him to lead in your life.

May God Bless you all this Easter and always.
